MERLIN’S CAVE
According to legend, this dark and eerie sea cavern in the rocks beneath Tintagel Castle is where the mysterious wizard once lived. Formed over centuries of erosion by the powerful Atlantic breakers, the 300ft cave passes all the way under the castle making it possible to enter on one side of the cliffs before exiting on the other. This supposedly is the place the infant Arthur was rescued from the sea and where the future king was raised by Merlin.
